James Legge's landmark translation of the Yi Jing, published in 1882 as Volume XVI of the Sacred Books of the East series. The first complete scholarly English translation of the text, including the Ten Wings (the commentaries attributed to Confucius). Legge worked from the classical Chinese with rigorous philological method; this edition remains the standard reference translation.
