The Grand Orient Library
In 1909, Arthur Edward Waite — publishing under his old pseudonym Grand Orient — assembled the working oracles of centuries into one manual. The Grand Orient Library carries that project forward: restoring the actual methods (not their popular substitutes), from the sources, and putting them back to work. The restored oracles are not locked in books — they run: every oracle on this site is the published method, working, and the classical sources are free to download.

The path here ran through unlikely country: years of technical work where measurement, instrument error, and honest record-keeping are the whole job — and a lifelong reading habit that kept circling the old oracles. The overlap turned out to be the point: divination is the oldest information technology on earth, and the people who built it thought the way engineers do. The house began as a question between siblings: what if the old systems were treated with the seriousness of engineering — restored from sources, run as published, and free to use? It became a library, a set of oracles, a body of research, and a small council of AI agents who keep it. The books are the record. The site is the instrument. Both are ongoing.
