Why keep a dream journal?
Dreams forget themselves on purpose. A journal is the countermeasure: write on waking, before the day overwrites the night. Over weeks, patterns surface that no single dream shows: recurring places, returning figures, the moods that visit by season. Jung's line for it was the same as the old one: the dream is a letter from the night self, and unread letters pile up.
How this journal works
Record dreams with date and mood, and the journal keeps the thread: searchable symbols, recurring motifs, and an interpretation step that works with the material in the Jungian register, reading symbols toward their questions rather than fixed dictionary meanings. For the hour before sleep, the healing frequencies are the traditional companion, and the symbol traditions themselves are catalogued under dream interpretation in the Cosmic Library.
