What is MBTI?
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality framework based on Carl Jung's theory of psychological types, developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers. It categorises people into 16 types based on four preferences: Extraversion/Introversion, Sensing/Intuition, Thinking/Feeling, and Judging/Perceiving. This site lets you explore all 16 types — their cognitive functions, strengths, growth areas, and compatibility with other types.
The Framework and Its Context
MBTI is drawn from Jung's 1921 work Psychological Types. It is the most widely used personality framework in popular culture, though its scientific validity is debated in academic psychology. Its value here is as a reflective tool — a vocabulary for thinking about your own tendencies and how you relate to others — rather than a definitive measurement. Each of the 16 types carries a resonant number in the site's Cosmic Lucky Numbers system, and your MBTI type is one of the nine inputs to the Daily Cosmic Briefing.
How to Use the Explorer
Set your MBTI type in your profile (or explore any type from the grid). The tool shows the type's dominant and auxiliary cognitive functions, typical strengths and blind spots, and compatibility notes with other types. Registered users see their type woven into the Daily Briefing alongside Saju, numerology, and the day's cosmic conditions.
