What is Saju?
Saju (사주), or Saju Palja (사주팔자 — the Four Pillars of Destiny), is a Korean system of destiny reading based on the birth date and time. The name refers to the four pillars (year, month, day, hour of birth), each composed of a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch drawn from the Chinese cosmological system. Together they reveal a person's elemental balance, temperament, and life tendencies. This site offers a free Saju reading with AI interpretation in the voice of a Korean Saju master.
The Tradition of the Four Pillars
Saju originated in Chinese astrological traditions (the same root system as BaZi) and was brought to Korea where it developed its own distinct interpretive tradition. The Heavenly Stems (천간) and Earthly Branches (지지) are the same elements used in the Chinese calendar's 60-day cycle. The day pillar — the stem and branch of the day you were born — is considered the most important for personal destiny. The system analyses the balance of the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) and the relationships between the animal signs. Saju is deeply embedded in Korean culture, consulted before marriages and major decisions.
How Saju Readings Work Here
Enter your birth date and, if known, your birth time. The calculator determines your four pillars. The AI reading interprets your day pillar — the stem and branch that define your core nature — with directness and authority. When the pillars indicate challenge or difficulty, the reading names it plainly and offers grounded counsel. Saju is also one of the nine inputs to the Daily Cosmic Briefing.
