Numerology — Pythagorean Number Science

What is Numerology?

Numerology is the belief that numbers carry meaning beyond their mathematical value, and that a person's birth date and name can be reduced to specific numbers that reveal character, life purpose, and personal cycles. This site uses the Pythagorean system, the most widely practiced Western numerology tradition, in which each letter A-Z is assigned a value from 1 to 9. Your life path number, personal day number, and name number are calculated from your birth date and full name.

The Tradition

Numerology's Western form is attributed to Pythagoras (c. 570-495 BCE), who taught that numbers are the essence of all things. The Pythagorean letter-to-number mapping used today was systematised in the early 20th century. The Chaldean system, an older Middle Eastern variant, is also practiced but less common in the West. Numerology feeds several features on this site: your life path and personal day numbers seed the Cosmic Lucky Numbers generator and the Daily Cosmic Briefing.

How Numerology Works Here

Enter your birth date and full name. The calculator reduces these to single-digit root numbers (with 11, 22, and sometimes 33 retained as master numbers). Your life path number is the reduced sum of your entire birth date. Your personal day number changes daily and reflects the cyclical numerological energy of each day. Readings are interpreted by AI grounded in the Pythagorean tradition — not as predictions, but as reflective prompts for self-examination.
